A suggested prayer for this Novena is the following:
Litany of the Promises Made by Our Lord to St. Margaret Mary
 
O Heart of Jesus, behold us kneeling before You, to adore You, to praise You, to thank you, to make reparation for our past faults, and to consecrate ourselves to Your Love.
Bearing in mind Your magnificent promises, we venture to say to You with entire confidence:
Heart of Jesus, give us the help necessary for our state of life,  Lord, You have promised it.
Heart of Jesus, grant peace to our families.  Lord, You have promised it.
Heart of Jesus, assist us in our labors and console us in our sorrows.  Lord, You have promised it.
Heart of Jesus, be our safe refuge during life, but above all at the hour of our death.  Lord, You have promised it.
Heart of Jesus, pour abundant blessings on all our undertakings.  Lord, You have promised it.
Heart of Jesus, be for sinners an ocean of mercy.  Lord, You have promised it.
Heart of Jesus, make tepid souls fervent.  Lord, You have promised it.
Heart of Jesus, make fervent souls advance rapidly to perfection.  Lord, You have promised it.
Heart of Jesus, bless the homes where Your image is exposed and honored.  Lord, You have promised it.
Heart of Jesus, give those who work for the salvation of souls grace to touch the most hardened hearts.  Lord, You have promised it.
Heart of Jesus, engraved on Yourself forever the names of those who promote this devotion.  Lord, You have promised it.
Heart of Jesus, give those who receive Holy Communion on the nine successive First Fridays the grace of final perseverance and of dying fortified by the reception of the sacraments. Be their secure refuge in this last hour.  Lord, You have promised it.
Heart of Jesus, reign in spite of Satan and the efforts of Your enemies.  Lord, You have promised it.
Closing Prayer:
Lord Jesus, remember the promises which, in the infinite mercy of Your Divine Heart, You made to St. Margaret Mary. Be the protector of our life, the mainstay of our weakness, the repairer of our faults, the completion of our virtues, and, above all, our sure refuge at the hour of our death. Amen.
